Analysis of inquiries on Dispensed Drugs at the Outpatient-Counter of Hospital Pharmacy

Abstract
Inquiries on dispensed drugs at the outpatient-counter of Asan Medical Center were studied for 8 weeks during the early period of hospital opening. In this period, 13.956 prescriptions were filed from 20 clinical departments and 251 inquiries were received. Inquiries¢¥s ratio of female was higher than that of male. It was shown that the number of inquirers of each clinical department was not correspond with the number of prescription and this fact was influenced by specific character of clinical department. The time required for answering to female was longer than that of male. As the content of inquiries, 49£¥ of all inquirers were about general question and 39£¥ about specific character of drugs. As classification of inquiries by pharmacological action, gastrointestinal drug was 27£¥, antimicrobials 16£¥ and antipyretics £¦ analgesics 14£¥. It was investigated that 35£¥ of inquiries for specific character were about drug interaction and 23£¥ about identification of drug. In consequence, this study verified that knowledge of clinical pharmacy is very important thing for hospital pharmacists, especially, who are working in outpatient-counter.
